Here at Spotted Dog Yoga we pride ourselves on being an Eco-Friendly yoga studio. Just how friendly are we? Glad you asked.

When you first step foot into the studio, what is the first thing you notice? Well the floor of course! Our floors are made from anti-microbial, water resistant, easy to clean, recycled materials. (An ANTIMICROBIAL is any substance of natural, semisynthetic or synthetic origin that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms but causes little or no damage to the host.)

In other words, our floors are less likely to get icky.

What about ALL that heat!? Don’t worry, at Spotted Dog the heat is evenly distributed throughout the room with special ducting, the humidity and heat levels are controllable to our specific settings. Also, our rooms are specially insulated so that our heating system will be efficient and help us conserve energy!

Phew, what a relief.

We are committed to conserving energy and reducing paper waste. Our studio is “lit up” using only LED light bulbs, lowering energy usage significantly! Can’t find any paper towels in the bathroom? We provide cotton hand towels to help eliminate paper in the land fills.

Don’t worry, the toilet paper isn’t recycled!

We encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle with you to the studio and “fill up” at our hydro station. To date, Spotted Dog Yoga has helped eliminate waste from 59,327 disposable plastic bottles!

Spring Cleaning


Oh, hello Spring. It’s so good to see you again. We have been waiting for you.

The equinox comes twice a year and it symbolizes transition and balance. Uniting.


As we are waking up from our winter slumber, it is time to let go of all the darkness and clutter and clean! We release what feels heavy and clear away all these mental, physical and emotional debris.

Control, anxiety, worthlessness, hurt, boredom, pain, exhaustion.

Just to name a few.

This challenges us to refocus our day to day efforts and reconnect to what matters most to us: goals, dreams, relationships, health and experiences.

How is your health? Are you happy?

How are your relationships? Do you feel connected?

How is your work? Does it feel empowering?

What can you do to be the best you?

Badass new years goals, its time to shine!

Maybe they are goals to enrich your knowledge, how to be a better partner, parent, friend, to take care of yourself, or to express yourself and open up.

And like many people maybe you have lost that connection to those badass goals, or maybe you forgot what they even were!

So when you think of spring and the Spring Equinox, think of your wellbeing, those goals you set months ago and come back to the person that you want to be. Meditate.

Plant the seeds of your hopes and dreams, cleanse the soil to make space and visualize your life in its highest potential-just like the world, when it blossoms into its fullest potential during Spring.

“Personal Revolution! I remember being unable to use those words to describe what I had signed up for 2 years ago. It felt like a tall order and a little boastful! Plus I didn’t really want to talk about it in depth with anyone outside of yoga. How would they ever understand and I felt there was no way I could explain.

It more than delivered a personal revolution! !!!! By challenging my prespective of myself, my diet, my yoga practice, my relationships, there wasn’t an area in my life that was untouched by my experience.

My favorite analogy is before my first 40 day experience I felt like I was carrying around extra luggage all the time. And not one bag but MANY!!! Each week I slowly put down a bag or two or three. They were still in my life but I didn’t have to carry them everywhere! I rediscovered that I was still me and though many things pushed me off center I could reconnect.

For the first time in 30 years I understood meditation and how to access the benefits. My yoga practice became insanely strong! I lost 35 pounds that year! Yeah I gained it back – like I said the luggage isn’t gone but I don’t carry it as much.”

Fit Dog Challenge Service Edition



The “FIT DOG CHALLENGE” is YOUR chance to jump start your practice in preparation for the holiday season! When life gets crazy, it can be tough to stick to healthy habits. We are here to support you through this challenge as you move through 10 consecutive days of yoga to stay on track!

During this special “FIT DOG CHALLENGE: Service Edition” we are collecting toys and coats for Blue Heart International’s Christmas Toy Drive!



1) Enrollment is FREE! Accept the challenge and sign up at the front desk today!

2) To complete this challenge, you will attend 10 yoga practices during the 10 day time period starting on 12/4/16 and ending on 12/13/16.

3) All classes count toward your challenge total EXCEPT for Restorative.

4) To complete this challenge, you will do 20 leap frogs for EACH of your 10 practices.

5) We will help you keep track of your challenge progress here at the studio, all you have to do is show up!

Freedom Lies In Being Bold

Stepping into leadership is not an easy task and can in fact be downright intimidating. What we know to be true from our experience at every new level of training is that taking the next step is going to be BOTH exciting and scary. In moments of “decision,” the fear or resistance we feel should not make us retreat but causeus to move forward. Consider that often the thing we avoid or find excuses not to do, is the thing that we are MEANT to do.
We are thrilled to begin “BE BOLD: Advanced Leadership Training” at Spotted Dog Yoga this Saturday AUGUST 12th. This program has been created as an access for SDY teachers and “LIGHT UP!” 200 Hour Teacher Empowerment graduates to continue and expand their development as leaders. 
Congratulations to Kristin Obregon, Jennifer Cox, Stephanie Tice, Rick Cheney and Emily Kendall for being accepted into “Be Bold!” In the next year, they will revolutionize and transform themselves as human beings, students, teachers and leaders in our community!
